Build an inventory app for Windows without coding

Describe your products, stock movements and reports in plain words, and Ningal writes a Windows program that does it. You download it like any other program, your data stays in a file on your computer, and you can change the app later by describing what should be different.

When a spreadsheet is no longer enough

A stock sheet works until two people edit it at once, a formula gets overwritten or you need to scan a barcode. Ready-made inventory software solves that, but you pay for it every month and you get the fields and screens someone else chose.

What an inventory app made with Ningal can do

This example was built from a single description:

  • Products with SKU, barcode, category, supplier, location, prices, minimum stock and a photo.
  • Receipts, sales, adjustments and transfers between locations, with who made each one.
  • A USB barcode scanner finds the product or adds it to the current movement.
  • A low-stock list, and purchase orders that update the stock when they arrive.
  • Stocktakes: count a location, see the differences and apply them.
  • Barcode labels printed on A4 label sheets.
  • Import your product list from Excel or CSV, and stock reports in Excel and PDF.

How to make yours

  1. 1
    Create your free account

Sign up with an email you can open now and confirm it from the email we send you. The free plan needs no card.

  2. 2
    Describe your app

In your Dashboard, click Create New Application, give the app a name and describe in your own words what it should do.

  3. 3
    Generate it

Click Generate Application. The AI writes the app, checks it and shows it in the preview, usually within one to a few minutes.

  4. 4
    Try it in the preview

The finished app opens in the preview. Use it as you would the real one: click its buttons, fill in its forms, go through its screens.

  5. 5
    Ask for changes

Under Modifications, describe what you want changed and click Apply Modification. The preview updates with the new version.

  6. 6
    Download it

When you like it, click Download Windows or Download Linux at the top. Your app is prepared in a few seconds and the download starts by itself.

  7. 7
    Run it on your computer

Extract the ZIP into any folder and double-click the app. There is nothing to install.

  8. 8
    Keep it up to date

Change your app whenever you like. When the version you downloaded is behind, the editor and the Dashboard tell you to download it again.

Start from the example's description and change what is different in your business: your fields, your locations, your reports.

Before you rely on it

  • It runs on Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit) and on Ubuntu 24.04 or later. It is not a website or a phone app.
  • Your data is kept in a database file inside the app's folder. Back up that folder regularly.
  • If you ask for shared use in the description, several people can work with it from a shared network folder. Do not put the app's folder in OneDrive, Dropbox or Google Drive, which can damage the database.
  • Try it with a copy of your data before you use it every day or share it with your team.

Questions

Can I bring my current product list?

Yes, if you ask for it: the example imports products from Excel or CSV.

Will my barcode scanner work?

Scanners that type the code like a keyboard, which is how most USB scanners work, work with the example.

Do I need to know how to program?

No. You describe what the app does in your own words, in any language, and Ningal writes and packages the program.

Can I change the app later?

Yes. Describe the change in the editor, download it again and copy the new files over the old ones in the app's folder. Your data is in that folder, so it stays.

How much does it cost?

The free plan is enough to build and download your first app. Paid plans give you more apps and more AI usage each month.
