Security of Ningal apps: what we check, and what we do not

Ningal apps run on your own computer. Here are straight answers about their security.

The four questions people ask first

Partly

Are Ningal apps digitally signed?

Every app is digitally sealed by Ningal: if anyone alters it, it stops opening. Windows apps made on a paid plan are signed with a Windows publisher certificate. Apps from the free plan do not, so Windows may ask you to confirm the first time you open them.

Yes

Is the code Ningal generates checked for security?

Yes, automatically. Every app is checked before you get it, and requests for programs that spy on what you type, or for game cheats, are rejected. The AI assistant inside an app cannot run commands on your computer. As with any program, only run apps from people you trust.

No

Are the apps scanned for malware before I download them?

Not one by one: we do not send your apps to outside services, because your app is your own work. The part that every app shares is checked with antivirus programs every day, and we are alerted if any of them flags it.

No

Does Ningal have security certifications?

No. Apps run on your own computer and keep their data there. What we keep about your account is described in the Privacy Policy.

More detail

Why does Windows or my antivirus sometimes warn me about a Ningal app?

Windows and some antivirus programs are cautious with any new program they have not seen before. It does not happen with every app, and if it does, write to info@ningal.com and we will look into it.

Where does the data of an app go?

It stays on the computer that runs the app, and the app does not need Ningal's servers to work. Online features such as AI or email connect directly to those services with your own keys, which the app keeps in your system's secure storage.

How do I report a security problem?

Write to info@ningal.com with what you found and how to reproduce it.

How do I report an app that is being used for something harmful?

Write to abuse@ningal.com, telling us which app it is and what it does. We look into every report and remove apps that break our terms.
